How Her Ghanaian Nubian King Met Her
It wasn’t too long ago that you picked me up from my Airbnb in Toronto, and even before saying hi I got in the car, opened my Snapchat and told the world say hi to my wife! I’m wild for that 😂. But 2 years later you’re my real wife! Safe to say we have power in our words! From that first DM, to actually meeting you, to now being one. We’ve been through a lot in just short time, but I thank God it’s you I’ve been blessed with to build and looking forward to whatever else He has in store for us. Love you and you know the hashtag Keep Your Expectations High

Wedding: The beautiful melanin Liberian bride was super duper stunning in her wedding gown. Some may say her gown is a little bit on the traditional side, however we feel it’s so different in the design and details and a non-white traditional gown. But I bet we both agree that she slayed that gown as it was made for her. The wedding gown is everything from E to T (ELEGANT).
Here’s what she had to say about her day
Advice to all brides out there BE YOURSELF ON YOUR DAY.
Your partner is marrying the one they fell in love with so if you have a funky style make sure that side of you is represented on your special day. Today there’s a lot of pressure with social media to be a viral sensation or to be featured on various pages that is resulting in more and more wedding images/styles looking similar. Be yourself, bring your unique style into your wedding day and make it special.
I constantly had people asking about what heels I would be wearing or how I’ll do my hair and how many bundles and how long they would be😫🤪 Being an artist I wanted to add my own creative flair to it. I made my own sneakers to match the bridesmaids gown. I did my own hair the night before after having designs cut into the sides of my tapered cut. I was marrying my love who knows my eccentric nature and loved that I was myself that day. So, be yourself on your wedding day, wear what you want to wear and don’t let anybody try to talk you out of it.😘

The 10 Unconventional Beautiful Black Brides That Slayed 2018
What Her Wedding Dress Fashion Designer Said:
@bridesbynona – We call her the Princess bride! Look at that castle in the background! There was nothing conventional about this bride! She saw the Black & White striped gown we designed last year that made its way around the internet and she LOVED IT! So we tweaked hers and we love the choice of Red accents she chose. Happy married life darling!!
Bride 9 @homeoftastymeals
Wedding: Although we were not sure if this African and Nigerian bride wore this dress for a white wedding, however it’s quite unconventional and the dress did make a statement no doubt. Not the usual traditional wear you’d see Nigerian brides rock, hence the dress definitely meets the “neck-breaker” category, a bright yellow at that. Dress was designed by Olabisi Odunne.

This year did have so many more unconventional brides like never before, who knows what 2019 has in store with the modern trend with more melanin brides aiming to have something unique and creative for their special big day. We believe we would see more brides brave enough to follow this trend. What are your thoughts?
