How They Met
Ricky and I met 25 years ago at a club on South Beach. At the time he was a popular DJ in South Fl with a sound system called Soul Syndicate. What he didn’t know was I was also a popular DJ from Brooklyn with a sound system called Diamond Edge, so when I listen to music, I tend to listen to all of the mixing and blending. Ricky made a bad mix that night, and I walked over to him to complain about his DJ skills lol. That ended with conversation.

Towards the end of the night someone stole my wallet out of the restroom and my family members and I got into a little scuffle with the young ladies who stole from me. Ricky and his crew were the ones who stopped the fight, told us we were too pretty to be fighting on the streets of South Beach. We all exchanged numbers and it formed a friendship. Forward to 2 years ago, at a cruise called Love and Harmony which is an all reggae cruise. With my love for music, I decided to go on this cruise by myself. To my surprise Ricky was also at the cruise. This is when we realized that we have tried the rest, and the best was right in front of us all this time. We have been inseparable since.

How he Popped the Question, Proposal location and Proposal date?
June 5, 2018 on the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It was a bitter sweet moment, because we were in our first trimester of pregnancy and on our first leg of our trip in London we miscarried the baby, but this did not stop Ricky from asking me to share the rest of our lives together. Even though we lost, we knew that it was not the reason why we wanted to get married. The love is so much bigger than that and if God allows us the opportunity again it will happen.

What did you enjoy most about your wedding day?
Most weddings have planners or coordinators to plan their special moments. I coordinated our wedding from beginning to end. Every single detail, every vision I had, I made it come to fruition. Our theme was Platinum and Ice and I asked all of my guests to wear white as I felt it was very symbolic to us. It signifies purity, light, innocence, goodness and protection. I wanted to see a Sea of White to Bless our Union. The Platinum and Ice theme was the fairy tale wedding I have always wanted.
The best parts of my wedding were my first dance on a cloud and my very impromptu Bridal Money Dance! My “Chongettes” aka also played a pivotal part in our wedding. They showed up and showed out and were the best Bridal Squad a woman can ask for. The first words that comes to my mind when it comes to my wedding is Fairy Tale Perfection because that’s what it was to me.

Congrats are in order to the Chongs! Hoping y’all enjoyed your Honeymoon in South Africa? Enjoy the rest of their wedding moments. Their Love notes to each other:
Sadequa says “You’re the batty to my bench” lol
Ricardo says “You’re my wife, my life, my everything”
