Autumn/Winter 2019 Eritrean Bridal Shoot rich in Floral Design by Queen of Hearts Floral Design London
Celebrating modern African weddings, this floral detailed styled shoot in London puts the Eritrean bride centre stage. Black British luxury floral designer Bilen Zeremariam of Queen of Hearts Floral Design shares the details of this Eritrean bridal shoot bursting with vibrant colour and creativity.
What Inspired You to Curate the Styled Shoot
The inspiration behind this shoot was to showcase the modern ‘Eritrean Bride’, in editorial style. I wanted to show brides how to achieve a unique, bold and fresh look for an Autumn/Winter wedding.
What was the idea behind the decor for the styled shoot? How did you put it all together?
The vision of the shoot was to encapsulate all the rich and deep tones of this season’s flowers, styled with rose gold elements. I went for a gorgeous burgundy table cloth to highlight the reflective mirror used.
What target audience will this styled shoot inspire that will capture their excitement more?
This shoot is targeted for the cultural bride. Queen of Hearts Floral Design prides itself for being a specialist in catering to couples who want to combine their wonderful heritage, yet still have Western elements in their wedding.
Tell us a little about the venue and why it was chosen
I have recently opened my new studio, located in Tottenham London and wanted to capture the indoor space as well as the outdoor space. Our talented wedding dress designer Yinka Ali’s gowns are simply stunning and added the final touch of glamour to the overall look.

Creative team behind the Autumn/Winter Eritrean Bridal Styled Shoot
This shoot was a fantastic collaboration between very talented wedding vendors. I wanted to capture all the vibrant tones chosen in my colour palette, which our photographer Sussie Mellstedt did wonderfully. The stunning dresses were designed by Yinka Alli, and fitted our model like a glove! The make up look created by Sawsan from Flawless Half was absolutely perfect, alongside beautifully styled hair by Hodan Yassin. The models were both styled by the talented Kelly Richardson, who is an expert in the editorial industry. And talk about the creative videography put together by Mohammed of Creative Iris, he’s awesome!
